THE SHY ONE.
When I first met Boo at the Animal Refuge league, he kept himself completely hidden, cowering under a chair. I couldn’t touch him at all, and he wouldn’t even sniff my hand.
They told me that they would only adopt him out along with his brother from another mother, Bug,
because the two of them had become bonded while in the shelter system, and that he wouldn’t be able to adjust by himself.
When I brought them both home, Bug made a quick work of taking over the house and settling right in, while Boo remained hidden in the corners and under the furniture for at least a month or two… It took several months for him to be comfortable enough just to come out into the room where I was, and almost a year had gone by when he first came up on the couch and cautiously sat next to me.
That was a few years ago, and as you can see, he’s made quite a lot of progress since then! This little little fucker is never not in my lap, on my chest, or smashed up against my face!
The first time that I met him at the Refuge League, I whispered quietly to him that I was gonna make him my friend.
Let this be a warning to you all to be careful what you wish for!
